About SWE

The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is a national organization for women and those who support women in succeeding and advancing in the field of engineering and leadership. The purpose of SWE is to promote diversity in technical fields by encouraging women to pursue math and science based careers. SWE was founded in 1950 and since has offered aspiring women engineers many opportunities such as scholarships, outreach development, networking and vocational assistance.

To be an officer of SWE or to attend conferences you must be a national member. A collegiate one year membership is $20 and a 4 year Collegiate to Professional membership is a one time fee of $50, a great deal! For more info on this amazing organization, visit the official SWE National website:

Our chapter of SWE meets the first Thursday of every month at 5:30pm, typically in Lafferre E1419.
