Start Fall Semester Off Right With SWE!

Hello Everyone! 

     Well, it's another year here at Mizzou with the SWEetHearts! No matter whether you're a freshmen just getting started or a seasoned senior, we have lots of ways to get involved! 

     We will be having a welcome event in the Rollins Classroom on Thursday from 5:30-7 PM. You can meet new people, eat some yummy snacks, and possibly get a free T shirt! WUT WUT!

     Leadership team, don't forget about our retreat on Tuesday, in the civil engineering classroom.

Hello SWEethearts!!

This Friday 9/28 Join SWE and NSBE at Shryocks Callaway Farms for the CORN MAZE!!! There are many activites to do at Shryocks: live- size corn maze, group hayrides, roaring campfires, and the list goes on. This year's maze features Truman and Mizzou's move to the SEC conference, it's going to be an adventure!

The cost is $7/person and we will decide what will be the best time to leave on Friday. The time frame will be around 5-7pm leaving in front of the engineering building.

We will no longer be communicating through emails sent from the section President. On Tuesday, April 17th we will delete the list serv and all SWE emails will be sent from our OrgSync account. If you want to be on our roster, stay up to date on SWE programming, and be a member of our section then you must join our OrgSync page. It's quick and easy to sign up!
  1. Go to orgsync.com
  2. Click 'Sign Up' in the top right hand corner
  3. Use your MU paw print and password to sign in
  4. Join the Society of Women Engineers page
  5. Make sure to are forwarding OrgSync messages to your email by checking your settings so you don't miss out on anything SWE!
If you are a graduating senior, still join SWE on OrgSync! We will be using this site to keep in touch with our Alumni!

Don't forget our Gear Up for E-Week event is this Thursday from 6-8pm in the Time Capsule! Come decorate some swag to wear during E-Week! SWE members with 3 points or more (SWE points - UPDATED TODAY - are under the Points tab) will get 5 free tickets to spend. Otherwise tickets are 50 cents a piece. The event is for everyone in the college, so bring your friends!

SWE Points

Earning SWE points is easy! Just attend any of our meetings and volunteer for activities or events. Here is a list of how many points you can earn for participating in SWE activities:

On-Campus Event: 2 base points + 1 point per hour
Off-Campus Event in Columbia: 3 base points + 1 point per hour
Off-Campus Event outside of Columbia: 5 base points + 1 point per hour
Extras: 2 points for early sign-ups, 2 points for van drivers


Three members (not including officers) with the most points at the end of spring semester will receive prizes. Scholarships are awarded in the spring to the three members who earn the most points during the year. You must be a national member in order to earn one of these scholarships!

The scholarship amounts are:

Most points - $1000
2nd most points - $750
3rd most points - $500

Note: This points update does not necessarily reflect the winners of the points scholarships. For the scholarship, all points (up to the April meeting) will be considered.

The Great Pumpkin Carving Event is tomorrow! So find your mentee/mentor and a pumpkin and head over to W1004. Drop in an time between 5 and 8 or stay the whole time! Paint and carving kits will be available; just bring a pumpkin and your imagination! See ya there!
